Building a Digital Future Together: GX's Partnership with PSV

Just like in soccer, success in digital transformation relies on strong teamwork. So, when PSV Eindhoven set out to reimagine their digital platforms, they needed a partner who could bring creativity, strategy, and agility to the field. GX was ready to join PSV's team, working together to craft a digital experience that connects fans in meaningful ways. Recently, we caught up with Jörgen, who leads PSV’s digital strategy, to reflect on the journey, the challenges, and the future we’re building together. 


The Project: Reimagining the Digital Fan Experience
 

Reflecting on the project, Jörgen highlighted the transformative nature of this initiative compared to past digital upgrades: 

“In previous years, we focused on visual improvements to our existing platform. This time, we set out to create an entirely new website, designed from the ground up to meet the needs of our fans in fresh, powerful ways.” 

PSV set clear objectives for the new platform: creating a personalized, mobile-first experience with a focus on driving fan engagement. From PSV’s core teams—PSV 1, PSV Women, and Jong PSV—to the PSV Academy youth program, the goal was to ensure that every fan’s journey was tailored to their interests. This meant seamless access to news, games, ticketing, and merchandise, all in a platform designed for personal connection and engagement. 

GX was selected for the project after a lengthy evaluation process. Jörgen shared why GX’s expertise made us the right fit: 

“We invited several agencies to pitch for this project, and GX’s pitch stood out not only for their knowledge of our current CMS, XperienCentral, but for their deep understanding of PSV’s goals. We knew from past projects that they had the experience and the talent we needed.”

The Impact: Personalization, Engagement, and Positive Fan Feedback
 

According to Jörgen, the long-standing relationship between GX and PSV was a critical asset in ensuring the project’s success. Our teams have worked together on previous digital upgrades, and the continuity of that experience allowed for a smooth collaboration throughout this large-scale transformation. 

“The familiarity between our teams allowed us to work efficiently. GX understood PSV’s unique needs and vision, which helped us create a platform where fans see the content they care about most—right on the homepage.” 

Jörgen noted that the feedback from fans has been incredibly encouraging. Supporters are happy with the updated design and ease of access, praising the platform’s sleek, modern feel. 

“Fans love the look and functionality of the new website. They’ve told us it feels like PSV is leading the way in fan-focused digital innovation,” Jörgen said. 

Learning and Growing Together: A Unique Partnership 

Not every project goes without its challenges, and Jörgen was open about some of the difficulties both sides encountered along the way. With a project of this scale, some unexpected hurdles emerged, but the commitment to collaboration kept us on course. 

“As with any significant change, there were obstacles. What stood out to us, though, was GX’s dedication to working through these with us. They were consistently solution-focused, and we ultimately reached our goal together.” 

This project further deepened a partnership that spans years. Many of the GX and PSV team members involved have collaborated on past digital upgrades, which Jörgen believes makes this relationship truly unique: 

“We’ve been working with GX for many years, and the fact that so many of the same people have been part of this journey adds a layer of trust and understanding that’s hard to replicate.” 

Looking Forward: Evolving the PSV Digital Experience 

PSV’s journey in digital transformation doesn’t end here. Guided by a recent CRO study with Happy Horizon, PSV and GX are continuously iterating on improvements to ensure the platform keeps delivering for fans. Jörgen shared his vision for how GX will continue to play a role in PSV’s digital evolution: 

“With GX’s ongoing investment in XperienCentral, particularly around security and functionality, we feel confident about the future. Now that they’re part of Happy Horizon, the potential for future innovation has only expanded. GX will continue to be a key partner as we keep pushing for new ways to engage our fans.” 

“The partnership between PSV and GX feels like a familial bond—one where we challenge each other, stay sharp, and always bring out the best in each other’s expertise,” Jörgen shared.
